Residential Proxies, also called Rotating Residential Proxies, come with two kinds of session types, Rotating and Sticky.

If you set your session type to "Rotating", it means that you will get a new IP for each session. So you will get a new IP after you start a new session, like opening a new tab, or starting a new download, etc.

If you set your session type to "Sticky", it means that you will get an IP that will never change in a certain period. (normally in 3-60 minutes) As the picture is shown below, I've set my session type to "Sticky", and it will keep the same IP for 10 minutes.

  1. So the question occurs how to get one IP instantly within a sticky period? Is it necessary?

    1. Of course, you can change your IP instantly during a sticky period. You just need to change the Session ID. The IP assigned is controlled by Session ID, but there is no corresponding relationship between a Session ID and an IP, which means once you change your Session ID, you will get one new IP from the IP pool with other requirements you set.

  2. What is a Session ID?

    1. Session ID is a code to control how long time an IP can be maintained for each session. It should be no more than 16 characters, including uppercase and lowercase letters.

  3. Where is a Session ID?

    1. proxy.goproxy.com:30000:customer-xxxxxxxxx-country-US-region-California-session-l9mk6t5vt003byv-time-10:yyyyyyyy

Here is an endpoint code for reference. the Session ID above is after "session-" but before "-time". So it's l9mk6t5vt003byv. You can just change it to M24Ksr10bddoq0ap, j2ensdmdpdka1anw, etc.
